AS Media Studies : Photoshoot Day

Photo shoot

Today the class had been split into groups of 4/5 to join a photographer called Gemma so that we can take some pictures that could be used in our magazines. Gemma has worked with various famous people before she had came to our school to help us take pictures. She had helped us by providing good lighting and telling us what kind of poses would be best for the genre of music that our magazine is based on. She had helped us a lot because she knew exactly how to help us take the best pictures that we could. The camera we had used for the photo shoot was the canon DSLR. Our photos were taken professionally as we posed in front of a white back drop and the camera was at a perfect distance away from us. Working with a professional photographer was a good experience because she taught us how to use the camera and how to take good pictures which will be helpful in the future for media and more. Gemma taught us that pictures that are taken during action for example whilst laughing can sometimes be better than pictures that we take whilst posing for the picture. So whilst taking some of my pictures my friends that used to camera made a joke to make me laugh.

I have improved my work because in the second picture we can see that my magazine name is behind my head instead of in front, I've done this because of my inspirational magazines, when i was looking for inspiration the magazines i liked had their titles behind their heads which i thought looked interesting because it shows that the image is the main feature.
